Give your child an insight into how adults earn money, and how that money is used, with the opportunity to ask questions.
The activity has three stages: 15mins pre visit, 15 mins visitor questioning, 45 mins post questioning activity.

About this activity

Timing: 75 minutes

How do you earn money? How does what you earn affect your spending and saving choices? This activity gives pupils the opportunity to meet adults from a variety of workplaces to help them learn more about the links between work, money and future lifestyle and goals. Inviting a volunteer or outside speaker into the classroom can help this subject ‘come alive’ when they speak from experience, tell personal stories and tackle concepts such as income tax and salaries, in a real-life context.
