Children don’t have as many opportunities to handle money in their everyday lives in the way previous generations did. There are now many ways to pay for things, and we even buy things from the comfort of our own home. Therefore, it is harder for children to understand money as it has become increasingly abstract. Having read Ed and Bunny Spend Invisible Money, these activities will help pupils understand that even though money might feel ‘invisible’, it is still real and should be looked after and used carefully. Pupils will find out more about different payment methods, as well as how people keep track of their money when they aren’t using cash, through bingo, role-play, discussion and drawing activities.

This activity follows on from Ed and Bunny Spend Invisible Money and should be completed after reading the storybook.
